LEAD CAME
Introduction to Lead Came
$290. +tx
You’ll leave this leading course with a panel reminiscent of those produced by the old masters of stained glass. Prior to L.C. Tiffany who developed the copper foil method, lead came was the only technique available to glass artisans. We’ll patiently guide you through the various stages of traditional leadlighting but using modern technology so that you too will have a thorough understanding of this classic process.
Glass cutting and previous foil and solder experience required.
Lead Came Restoration

Repairing and restoring heritage windows is a labour of love – a very expensive undertaking if you have to pay someone else to do it. This course will teach you how to do it yourself. Bring along your tool kit and your own window to work on. We’ll show you how to remove broken pieces of glass, camouflage cracks, work with old and new lead came and, throw in a few soldering and finishing tips that will bring back the original beauty of your piece. You’ll leave with the satisfaction of a job well done and at a fraction of the cost of hiring professionals. Note: We can't store your windows here so please speak with Lori to discuss transportation if you are bringing your own window.
